It’s wet and icy out in New York today. The rain makes the ground so slippery I’m surprised anyone can get anywhere. Getting the groceries this morning was a feat. Bob was expecting a park visit despite the obvious amount of rain that usually deters such a trip. Today was no different and we walked elsewhere.

Holding an umbrella in one hand and leash in another I felt rather compromised in my balance. I’m pretty uncoordinated as it is.

One patch of sidewalk wasn’t going to let us pass easily. I felt the presence of the Ice King, and he didn’t want me to continue down Powers St. So I made a turn down Manhattan. My foot slid, the umbrella shot out for balance yet it wasn’t enough, the leash hand corrected, pulling up and turning Bob towards me. The look on his face was priceless as he saw me struggle to stay upright. 

In almost 5 years, it was the first time he saw me compromised. 

I could fall.
